Gene Krupa Vocalist No Words Song

Postby Fred Giddings » Tue June 15 2004 10:42 PM

As I recall there was an almost entirely wordless vocal by Gene Krupas singer in the late 30s or early 1940s that was a big hit. I think it may have been either Irene Day or Anita O Day but don't remember for sure. It was a rather slow song in which the rest of the band vocally backed the female vocalist who did little more than a lot of doodle doo dooing. I haven't heard the song in years and was wondering if someone could help me with the title and tell me if and where I might acquire it.

I think your thinking of "Thats What You Think" by Krupa's band. She sings mainly a lot of "dee dee dums" except on the bridge.
